People of all ages can be affected but Arthritis more commonly develops with age.

Characterised by the wearing of cartilage that surrounds joints, causing stiffness, inflammation and pain, as well as restricted movement and the weakness and wasting of muscles over time. The condition may be accelerated by a number of factors, including infection or injury to the joint, autoimmune disorders, and genetics.

Treatments for Arthritis

The most common treatments prescribed for Arthritis include opioids, steroid injections, and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Lifestyle changes such as exercise regimes, diets, and physiotherapy may also be suggested; in more serious cases, surgery may also be considered.

Medical Cannabis Treatment

A growing body of evidence suggests that cannabis-based medical products (CBMPs) could be useful for the treatment and symptom management of a number of pain conditions – including Arthritis.
